What is Paintless Dent Removal (PDR)?
Paintless Dent Removal is the process of removing door dings, dents, creases, and hail damage from vehicles without any painting. We use a specialized set of tools to reach behind the dent and work it back out to its original position using a lot of really precise, controlled pushes. This is the best and least intrusive method to repair dents in vehicles while preserving the factory finish. The repair time is much shorter, and the cost is usually much less than a traditional body shop.
Dent Removal
Dent removal is a general term that includes all dents. PDR uses hand tools to massage the dent back out without damaging the factory finish. Body shops generally will use filler, then sand the panel smooth, and repaint it.
Door Dings
Door dings make up most of the dents repaired by PDR. If you use your car you’re bound to pick some up sooner or later. The good news is that we can remove them for you. The repair time for a door ding is usually short, and they are inexpensive.
Creases
Creases are dents that make a line. They are like a whole bunch of dents strung together. They can be difficult to remove completely if they are very sharp or deep. We have extensive experience with creases and can generally remove them without a trace.
Hail Damage
There is a lot of variance with hail damage from storm to storm. The repair estimate includes several variables: 1. Dents: The size, number, sharpness, and depth. 2. Panel material: Steel or aluminum panels. 3. Removal and installation of parts: Headliner, hood and trunk liners, wheel liners, headlights, taillights, etc.
Aluminum Panels
Aluminum panels are being used more and more in vehicles these days. Some vehicles have an all-aluminum body or a partial-aluminum body, while many just have aluminum hoods. Aluminum is harder to work with, but we are still able to remove many of the dents in aluminum panels.
Bodyline Dents
Bodyline dents are dents on one of the panel’s contour lines. The contour lines are sometimes called “creases,” or “seams.” These are some of the hardest dents to repair cleanly. We repair bodyline dents every day. We can usually get them out so you would never know they were ever there.
